GlobeEight is a proud member of the Act Now network – a network actively looking for and broadcasting new ways to minimize energy consumption and Co2 emissions.
Act Now was started in 2011 by Grundfos, Copenhagen Municipality, Concito and the Climate Consortium.
June 2011: Kick-off meeting
GlobeEight participated in the kick-off meeting in June 2011, and will be happy to add ideas, suggestions and real life examples already out there to deliver on the Act Now mission.
According to key note speaker Ms. Connie Hedegaard, the EU Climate Commissioner the EU road map 2050 road map stipulates a 80% reduction in emissions by mid-century. This calls for making the climate change aganda mainstream, establishing new partnerships for innovation and knowledge sharing as well as huge financial investments to secure a bigger transmission.
Based on all the input gathered at the kick-off meeting the Act Now secretariat will now complete a list of all the ideas presented and discussed to help deliver on the mission.
We will share this list here when ready – so that you can be inspired and hopefully help come up with even more ideas. The world needs everybody’s help!
Oct 2011: Follow up meeting
In the meeting Act NOW presented a number of very interesting examples and initiatives on how to tackle climate change, fight increasing CO2 emissions and to decrease the use of resources.
To name these examples and initiatives:
- Unicer Brewery, Portugal
- Vitens water company, Holland
